Uptrend definition

Uptrend is when stock or index appears to be trending higher over extended period of time. Typically uptrend is associated with higher highs, meaning that stock or index new highs are higher than previous highs. As long as higher highs are happening, the uptrend continues.

Uptrend is the opposite of downtrend.
