Insider Trading is any scheme to profit from buying/selling stock or options based on information that is not available to the general public. Corporate executive involved in merger/acquisition buying/selling stock or options in companies involved in the merger before the merger is announced is a good example of Insider Trading. Insider Trading is illegal.
