High-Yield Bond definition

High-Yield Bond is a bond issued by a company that is considered to be higher-risk and speculative. S&P rates companies issung High-Yield Bonds as BB or lower, Moody’s rates them as BA or lower. High-Yield Bond normally offers higher yield than Investment Grade Bond in order to attract investors.
