Convertible Bonds definition
Convertible Bonds are bonds that can be converted to common stock if certain conditions are met. Typically, convertible bonds can be converted to common stock when the stock price goes above pre-determined level. That way Convertible Bonds typically offer some benefits of bonds - generating income, and some benefit of common stock - participating in possible price appreciation.
