Capital Gain and Capital Loss definition
Capital Gain or Capital Loss is the difference between buy price and sell price of stock or investment. Capital Gain does not include dividends or any other income generated from investment; Capital Gain/Loss is strictly the difference between buy and sell price.
For example, ABCD stock bought at 20 and sold at 25 will give you $5 Capital Gain.
ABCD stock bought at 20 and sold at 16 will give you $4 Capital Loss.
